Robert has had an interest in photography since he was a child, and at the age of 12 had learned the basic darkroom techniques of developing and printing black and white film. During high school he took photos for the school paper and yearbook, and also was active in the school theatrical productions. While he was working in the computer industry, Robert took photography classes at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, mainly out of his love for photography and wanting to learn everything he didn't know. In 2002, after exiting the electronics industry, Robert decided to start his professional photography business.
When he started his photography business he decided to develop personal techniques for commercial photography and not use the 'text book' procedures for 'correct professional photography', since that is what almost all other professional photographers do. With his background in theatrical lighting and his knowledge of the physics of film, Robert works hard to make unique photographs that grab attention and where the subjects have 3-dimensional qualities. This, of course, is not always possible, and in 'real life' situations when Robert is working he is always looking for unique angles and interesting views to capture the image as dynamic as possible. Robert always strives for perfection in all he does.
While Robert Torre Photography only lists Portrait and Weddings as specialties on this site, he has the knowledge and experience to do Corporate/Commercial work, Model Portfolios, Boudoir, Artist Portfolios, Pet, Digital Manipulation and Restoration, and even has a varied and ever expanding stock collection. |
